Intent-based bridge

NEAR Intents

NEAR Intents lets you swap real coins across networks, including Bitcoin, Dogecoin and Zcash. You say what you want to end up with, and compete to give you the best price. You receive the real coin on the destination network, not a .

How it works

  1. 1You sign a request (an ), or simply send coins to a deposit address. Many wallets create that address for you through the 1Click API.
  2. 2Solvers compete to quote and fill your swap.
  3. 3The deal is settled in the NEAR Intents contract on NEAR, and you receive the real coin on the destination network.

Trust model

You are trusting the NEAR Intents settlement contract and the that hold deposits on other networks. For some networks, such as Ethereum, that bridge is run by the operator, so you trust that operator too. Solvers only compete on price. They do not hold your funds.

Strengths

  • Swaps real coins between Bitcoin-style () networks and networks, with no wrapped tokens.
  • Built into many wallets and apps through the 1Click API.

Limitations

  • Zcash deposit addresses are transparent (public). Some wallets, such as Zashi, can pay into them from a balance, but the deposit itself is visible.
  • A swap only happens if a solver is available for that pair of coins.
