Ethereum to TON Bridge
Most people go from Ethereum to TON with a cross-chain swap such as Symbiosis or NEAR Intents, or through an exchange. You send ETH or a stablecoin and get Toncoin or USDT on TON. For USDT alone there is also USDT0. The old official TON Bridge closed for good on 1 September 2026.

Short answer
For most people a direct cross-chain swap is the simplest way. Symbiosis and NEAR Intents take ETH or stablecoins from your Ethereum wallet and pay Toncoin or USDT on TON to your TON address. No exchange account is needed. Rango compares these routes for you.
An exchange is the other common way. You deposit ETH or USDT on the Ethereum network, trade if needed and withdraw Toncoin or USDT on the TON network. This suits people who already keep money on an exchange, and it often has the most buyers and sellers for large amounts.
The old official TON Bridge is gone. The TON Foundation shut it down for good on 1 September 2026, after its oracles withdrew their stake in June. If you only move USDT, Tether's USDT0 app sends native USDT from Ethereum to TON for a 0.03% fee plus network costs.
| Usual way | Cross-chain swap or exchange |
|---|---|
| Direct options | Symbiosis, NEAR Intents, USDT0 (USDT only) |
| Official TON Bridge | Closed on 1 September 2026 |
| USDT on TON | Issued by Tether directly on TON |
| Fee coin on arrival | Toncoin |
| Address format | TON address, often starting with UQ or EQ |
| Usual time | A few minutes |
Why this route is difficult
Ethereum and TON are built very differently. On Ethereum, a transaction either fully works or fully fails in one go. On TON, one action can turn into several messages that run one after another. Ethereum cannot cheaply read TON, and TON cannot read Ethereum, so bridges rely on relayers, solvers or validators that watch one network and act on the other. That means you trust them.
Tokens work differently too. On TON, tokens like USDT are called jettons, and each holder gets a small separate wallet contract for each token. Tether issues USDT directly on TON, so USDT you receive there is the real thing, not a bridged copy. Ethereum USDT and TON USDT are still separate tokens, so moving between them means burning, swapping or using a service that holds both.
TON once had an official bridge to Ethereum that wrapped Toncoin into a token on Ethereum and back. The TON Foundation closed it for good on 1 September 2026. So this route now depends on outside services, exchanges and, for USDT, on USDT0.
Possible approaches
1Cross-chain swap
Symbiosis takes your coins on Ethereum and pays Toncoin or USDT on TON through its relayers and pools.
Trade-offOne step from your own wallet, but large amounts depend on pool size and you trust its relayers.
2Intent-based swap
NEAR Intents lets solvers compete to fill your order and pay you on TON.
Trade-offCompetitive prices, but a swap only happens if a solver takes your pair.
3Centralized exchange
Deposit ETH or USDT on Ethereum, trade if needed and withdraw on TON.
Trade-offDeep markets and simple, but the exchange holds your money for a while and needs an account.
4USDT0 Legacy Mesh
Tether's USDT0 app moves native USDT from Ethereum to TON through a hub on Arbitrum, secured by LayerZero.
Trade-offReal USDT on both sides and a fixed 0.03% fee, but it moves USDT only.
Options compared
| Option | You get | Typical time | Cost | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cross-chain swap protocol (Symbiosis) | Toncoin or USDT on TON | A few minutes | Ethereum fee + markup in the quote | ETH or USDT to Toncoin from your own wallet |
| Intent-based swap (NEAR Intents) | Toncoin or USDT on TON | A few minutes | Ethereum fee + markup in the quote | Price check against Symbiosis |
| Centralized exchange | Toncoin or USDT on TON | Minutes to an hour | Ethereum fee + trading fee + withdrawal fee | Large amounts, existing account |
| USDT0 Legacy Mesh | Native USDT on TON | About 4 minutes | 0.03% + Ethereum gas + LayerZero fee | USDT only, not ETH |
Working solutions
| Solution | You receive | Custody / verification | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Symbiosis | Toncoin and USDT on TON | Relayers and pools | Check that your exact pair is offered. |
| NEAR Intents | Toncoin, USDT on TON | Solvers, settled on NEAR | Paused for about half a day after an exploit on 1 Oct 2026, then resumed. |
| Rango Exchange | Supported TON tokens | Depends on route | Compares TON routes for you. |
| Centralized exchanges | Toncoin or USDT on TON | Exchange holds funds | Most trading for large amounts. Pick the TON network when withdrawing. |
| USDT0 | Native USDT on TON | LayerZero plus a 3-of-3 attestation set | USDT only. 0.03% fee plus Ethereum gas. |
How to move Ethereum to TON
These steps show a swap from ETH or USDT on Ethereum to Toncoin or USDT on TON with a cross-chain swap service such as Symbiosis or NEAR Intents. The address checks are the same if you withdraw from an exchange.
- 1
Set up a TON wallet
Install a TON wallet such as Tonkeeper and write down its recovery phrase. Copy your TON address. It usually starts with UQ or EQ and looks nothing like a 0x address.
- 2
Get your Ethereum wallet ready
Use MetaMask, Rabby or another Ethereum wallet with the ETH or stablecoin you want to move. Keep extra ETH for the Ethereum network fee, which is the most expensive part of this route.
- 3
Choose what you want on TON
Pick Toncoin if your TON wallet is empty. If you want USDT, make sure you also get some Toncoin, because moving USDT on TON costs a fee paid in Toncoin.
- 4
Enter the TON address and check the quote
Paste your TON address and check the first and last characters. Look at the amount you will receive, not only the fee line. Compare two services, or use Rango to compare for you.
- 5
Approve and sign on Ethereum
ETH needs no approval. USDT or USDC asks for a token approval first, which is a separate transaction with its own fee. Then sign the swap transaction.
- 6
Check that it arrived
The service shows the progress. When it is done, look up your address on a TON explorer such as Tonviewer or Tonscan. Toncoin and USDT appear in Tonkeeper by themselves.
Fees and timing
Ethereum is the expensive side. You pay gas for the swap transaction, and tokens like USDT need an approval transaction first. Ethereum gas in 2026 is often cents to a dollar or two, but it rises when the network is busy. Sending ETH instead of a token saves the approval.
The service fee and the swap markup are built into the quote, so compare the amount you will receive. The service also pays the TON fee to deliver your coins and includes it in the price. TON fees themselves are small, usually a few cents in Toncoin.
On an exchange you pay the Ethereum fee to deposit, a trading fee if you swap, and a fixed withdrawal fee to TON. TON confirms in seconds, so the wait mostly depends on how many Ethereum confirmations the service or exchange wants and how fast it sends your payout.
Common mistakes
- Pasting a 0x address where the TON address should go, or a TON address into an Ethereum field.
- Receiving only USDT on TON with no Toncoin, so you cannot move it until you get some.
- Using a site that still calls itself the official TON Bridge. That bridge closed on 1 September 2026.
- Sending Toncoin or USDT on to an exchange without the deposit memo (comment). The coins arrive but are not credited until support matches them by hand.
- Withdrawing USDT from an exchange on the wrong network. Choose TON, not Ethereum or TRON, if you gave a TON address.
- Trusting a token called TON or USDT in your wallet without checking it is the real one. Fake jettons with the same name exist.
Before you transfer
- Make sure you end up with some Toncoin, even if you mainly wanted USDT.
- Your own TON wallet does not need a memo. Exchanges usually do, so copy it exactly when you send to one.
- TON's official site now calls the native coin Gram, also known as Toncoin. Most apps still show TON.
- Send ETH rather than a token when you can, to skip the Ethereum approval fee.
- Send a small test first when you use a service or an exchange for the first time.
- If you still hold wrapped Toncoin on Ethereum or j-tokens such as jUSDT on TON, the official bridge can no longer convert them back. It closed on 1 September 2026.
Frequently asked questions
Use a cross-chain swap like Symbiosis or NEAR Intents from your Ethereum wallet and enter your TON address. You get Toncoin or USDT on TON. You can also sell ETH on an exchange and withdraw on the TON network.
Not anymore. The TON Foundation shut down its legacy Token Bridge on 1 September 2026. For USDT, Tether's own USDT0 app is the closest thing to an official route. For ETH to Toncoin, use a cross-chain swap or an exchange.
Yes. The USDT0 app at usdt0.to sends native USDT from Ethereum to TON for a 0.03% fee plus gas, usually in a few minutes. Cross-chain swaps and exchanges work too. Get a little Toncoin as well, so you can move the USDT later.
Not with a normal send. MetaMask sends on Ethereum and Tonkeeper receives on TON. Use a cross-chain swap that takes coins from MetaMask and pays out to your Tonkeeper address.
No, not for your own wallet like Tonkeeper. Leave the memo or comment field empty. A memo is needed when you send to an exchange or another service that gives you one.
Every transaction on TON, including sending USDT, costs a small fee paid in Toncoin. With only USDT in the wallet, the transaction cannot go through.
Usually a few minutes. TON confirms in seconds, so most of the wait is the Ethereum confirmations the service needs and the time it takes to send your payout.
