Sui to Ethereum Bridge
Sui to Ethereum has a native route. Sui Bridge, run by Sui validators, sends ETH, WETH, WBTC, LBTC and USDT back, with a claim step on Ethereum. USDC goes over Circle CCTP. To turn SUI into ETH, use a swap app like Mayan or NEAR Intents, or an exchange.

Short answer
Sui Bridge at bridge.sui.io is the native Sui to Ethereum bridge. It is built into the Sui network and run by Sui's validators, the same group that secures the chain. Its code is open source in Mysten Labs' Sui repository. It supports five assets: ETH, WETH, WBTC, LBTC and USDT. If your tokens came in this way, this is the direct way back.
The return trip has two parts. You start the transfer on Sui and pay a small SUI fee. Once the validators have signed it, you claim the tokens on Ethereum in a second transaction, which costs ETH gas. Until you claim, the tokens wait in the bridge.
Other assets need other routes. Native USDC on Sui goes through Circle CCTP. Wormhole-wrapped tokens go back through Wormhole. SUI itself has no home on Ethereum, so SUI to ETH is a swap, not a bridge. Swap apps like Mayan and NEAR Intents, or an exchange that lists SUI, handle that.
| Native bridge | Sui Bridge (bridge.sui.io) |
|---|---|
| Run by | Sui validators |
| Sui Bridge assets | ETH, WETH, WBTC, LBTC, USDT |
| Extra step | Claim on Ethereum, paid in ETH |
| Daily limit out of Sui | $7 million per 24 hours (Sui Bridge) |
| USDC route | Circle CCTP, standard transfer |
| SUI to ETH | Swap app or exchange |
Why this route is difficult
Sui and Ethereum are built very differently. Sui stores assets as objects and runs the Move language. Ethereum uses accounts and Solidity. A token on one cannot simply appear on the other. A bridge has to remove it on one side and release or create it on the other.
Sui Bridge does this with Sui's own validators. On the way back, the bridged tokens are removed on Sui, the validators sign the transfer once enough voting power agrees, and the original tokens are released from the bridge contract on Ethereum when you claim. You trust the same group that runs Sui itself.
To limit damage if something goes wrong, Sui Bridge caps how much value can leave in 24 hours. The Sui docs list $16 million into Sui and $7 million out of Sui per day. Validators set these limits by vote, so they can change.
The other problem is versions. The same coin can exist on Sui as a Sui Bridge token, a Wormhole-wrapped token or native USDC from Circle. Each goes back by its own route. Check the exact token in your wallet before you choose a bridge.
Possible approaches
1Native validator bridge
Sui Bridge removes your tokens on Sui, Sui validators sign, and you claim the original tokens on Ethereum.
Trade-offSame trust as Sui itself, but only five assets, a claim step, and a daily limit.
2Issuer burn and mint
Circle CCTP burns USDC on Sui and Circle mints real USDC on Ethereum.
Trade-offReal USDC with no wrapped copy. Only for USDC. There is no separate fast mode, as the standard transfer from Sui is already fast.
3Intent-based swap
A solver takes SUI or a Sui token and pays ETH or another token on Ethereum.
Trade-offFast and can turn SUI into ETH in one step. The fee is in the quote, and big amounts depend on solver capacity.
4Messaging bridge
Wormhole burns wrapped tokens on Sui and releases the original tokens on Ethereum after its guardians sign.
Trade-offBrings Wormhole-wrapped tokens home, but you rely on Wormhole's guardian set.
Options compared
| Option | You get | Typical time | Cost | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sui Bridge (native) | ETH, WETH, WBTC, LBTC or USDT on Ethereum | Varies, plus your claim | SUI fee + Ethereum gas for the claim | Assets that came in through Sui Bridge |
| Circle CCTP | Real USDC on Ethereum | Standard transfer, already fast from Sui | Network fees on both chains | Native USDC of any size |
| Swap app (Mayan, NEAR Intents, LI.FI) | ETH, USDC or other Ethereum tokens | Seconds to a few min | Markup or fee in the quote | SUI to ETH in one step |
| Wormhole (Portal Bridge) | The original token, unwrapped | Varies | SUI fee + Ethereum gas | Wormhole-wrapped tokens |
| Centralized exchange | ETH or USDC on Ethereum | Depends on the exchange | Trading + withdrawal fee | Selling SUI, large SUI amounts |
Working solutions
| Solution | You receive | Custody / verification | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sui Bridge | ETH, WETH, WBTC, LBTC, USDT | Sui validators | Native bridge at bridge.sui.io. Needs a claim on Ethereum. Daily limits apply. |
| Circle CCTP | Real USDC | Circle burns and mints | Current CCTP on Sui. Standard transfer, already fast, no separate fast mode. |
| Mayan | ETH, USDC and other Ethereum tokens | Solvers and Wormhole messaging | Can turn SUI into ETH in one step. |
| Wormhole | Original tokens for Wormhole-wrapped assets | Wormhole guardians | Use Portal Bridge for tokens that came in through Wormhole. |
| NEAR Intents | ETH, USDC and other Ethereum tokens | Solvers, settled on NEAR | Paused for about half a day after an exploit on 1 Oct 2026, then resumed. Affected users were promised refunds. |
| LI.FI | Depends on the route | Depends on the route | Compares several bridges and swaps in one place. |
| Allbridge Core | USDT or USDC | Allbridge contracts, no pooled user funds | Uses the stablecoin issuer's own standard, no pools since July 2026. Check the route in the app. |
How to move Sui to Ethereum
These steps show how to send ETH from Sui to Ethereum with Sui Bridge. For USDC, use a CCTP app. For SUI to ETH, use a swap app or an exchange instead and follow its quote.
- 1
Check which token you hold
Open your Sui wallet (Slush, Suiet, Phantom or similar) and check the token. Sui Bridge only takes the ETH, WETH, WBTC, LBTC and USDT it issued. A Wormhole-wrapped token with a similar name will not work here.
- 2
Have SUI and ETH ready
You need a little SUI to start the transfer on Sui. You also need ETH in your Ethereum wallet for the claim later. A brand new Ethereum wallet with no ETH cannot claim.
- 3
Open Sui Bridge and connect both wallets
Go to bridge.sui.io from a bookmark or the link on sui.io. Connect your Sui wallet and your Ethereum wallet, such as MetaMask. Choose Sui as the source and Ethereum as the destination.
- 4
Start the transfer on Sui
Pick the asset and amount, check the Ethereum 0x address and sign in your Sui wallet. The tokens leave your Sui balance right away.
- 5
Wait for the validators
Sui validators check the transfer and sign it. The bridge history shows when it is ready to claim. Very large transfers can wait longer if the daily limit has been reached.
- 6
Claim on Ethereum
Come back to the bridge with the same wallets and press claim. Sign the Ethereum transaction and pay the gas. The tokens then show up at your address on Etherscan.
Fees and timing
Sui Bridge has two network fees on this direction. Starting on Sui costs a fraction of a cent in SUI. The claim on Ethereum costs a normal Ethereum fee, which depends on how busy Ethereum is. Check the bridge screen for any bridge fee before you sign.
Circle CCTP adds no fee on standard transfers apart from network fees. Sui is on the current CCTP, and Circle says the standard transfer from Sui is already fast, so there is no separate fast mode. Swap apps like Mayan and NEAR Intents build their fee into the quote, so compare the amount you will receive. Exchanges charge a trading fee and a withdrawal fee.
Size matters on Sui Bridge. The Sui docs say a global limit caps value leaving Sui at $7 million per 24 hours, shared by all users, and also cap a single transfer. Everyday amounts are not affected. Very large transfers may have to wait, or be split.
Common mistakes
- Forgetting the claim on Ethereum, so the tokens sit in the bridge.
- Having no ETH in the Ethereum wallet when it is time to claim.
- Trying to send a Wormhole-wrapped token through Sui Bridge, or the other way round. Each bridge only takes back its own version.
- Expecting to bridge SUI to Ethereum. SUI needs a swap app or an exchange.
- Pasting a Sui address where an Ethereum address is needed. Ethereum addresses are shorter, 42 characters including 0x.
- Spending all your SUI and having nothing left to pay the fee on Sui.
- Using a fake bridge site found through ads. Type bridge.sui.io yourself or use the link from sui.io.
Before you transfer
- Check the exact token in your Sui wallet first. It decides which bridge can take it back.
- Keep ETH in your Ethereum wallet for the Sui Bridge claim.
- For native USDC, use CCTP or an app that uses it.
- For SUI to ETH, use a swap app or an exchange. No bridge moves SUI itself to Ethereum as SUI.
- Very large Sui Bridge transfers can hit the daily limit. Split them or plan for a wait.
- If you send to an exchange, check that it accepts the token and network you send on.
Frequently asked questions
For ETH, WBTC, LBTC and USDT that came in through Sui Bridge, use Sui Bridge to send them back. For native USDC, use Circle CCTP. For SUI to ETH, a swap app like Mayan or an exchange is simpler.
Sui Bridge splits the return trip in two. You start it on Sui, and once the validators have signed, you release the tokens on Ethereum with your own transaction. You need ETH to pay that gas.
Not as SUI through Sui Bridge, which only supports ETH, WETH, WBTC, LBTC and USDT. To get ETH for your SUI, use a cross-chain swap app or sell SUI on an exchange.
Yes. The Sui docs list a global limit of $7 million per 24 hours from Sui to Ethereum, shared by all users, plus a cap on single transfers. Validators set the limits by vote, so they can change.
Sui validators, the same group that secures the Sui network. Transfers need signatures from validators holding enough voting power. The code is open source and was audited by OtterSec and Zellic.
Use an app built on Circle CCTP. It burns USDC on Sui and Circle mints the same amount of real USDC on Ethereum. From Sui you use the standard transfer, which is usually fast, and the app shows the estimate.
It paused deposits and withdrawals for about 12 hours after an exploit on 1 October 2026, then resumed, and affected users were promised refunds. Weigh that like any other risk, and compare it with other swap apps or an exchange.
