Ethereum to Sui Bridge

Ethereum to Sui is a well served route. Sui Bridge, run by Sui's own validators, moves ETH, WBTC, LBTC and USDT. USDC goes over Circle CCTP as native USDC. Wormhole, Mayan and other swap apps can also turn ETH into SUI in one step.

Short answer

The main Ethereum to Sui is Sui Bridge at bridge.sui.io. It is built into Sui and run by the same that secure the network. It moves ETH, WETH, WBTC, LBTC and USDT from Ethereum to Sui. The wait is mostly Ethereum , so plan on roughly 15 to 30 minutes. For USDC, the best path is Circle CCTP, which burns USDC on Ethereum and mints native USDC on Sui.

If you want SUI itself, an ETH to SUI bridge alone will not do it, because SUI is Sui's own coin and does not live on Ethereum. You either bridge ETH or USDC and then swap on a Sui exchange like Cetus, or use a app (Mayan, NEAR Intents, LI.FI and others) that pays out SUI directly. Some apps are faster than the because a fronts the money.

Sui works a bit differently from Ethereum. Addresses are 0x followed by 64 characters, longer than Ethereum ones, and you need a Sui wallet like Slush, Suiet or Phantom. You also need a small amount of SUI to pay fees once your tokens arrive. Sui fees are very small, usually a fraction of a cent.

Why this route is difficult

Ethereum and Sui are built very differently. Ethereum uses accounts and the Solidity language. Sui stores everything as objects and uses the Move language. A token cannot just be copied across. A bridge has to lock it on Ethereum and create a matching one on Sui, or it through the issuer.

Sui solved the main part of this with Sui Bridge, which went live on mainnet in September 2024. Instead of an outside company, Sui's own validators watch Ethereum and approve transfers once enough of them sign. That means you trust the same group that secures Sui itself.

The waiting time comes from Ethereum. To avoid acting on a block that could be undone, bridges wait for Ethereum finality, which takes about 13 to 20 minutes. Solver-based swaps can skip that wait for you because the solver takes on that risk.

The other catch is that the same coin can exist in several versions on Sui. Native USDC from Circle, USDT from Sui Bridge and older Wormhole- all sit side by side. Most Sui apps now prefer native USDC and Sui Bridge assets, but check before you pick a route.

Possible approaches

1Native validator bridge

Sui Bridge locks your tokens in a contract on Ethereum, and Sui validators approve minting them on Sui.

Trade-offSame trust as Sui itself and no extra fee, but limited to a few assets and it waits for Ethereum finality.

2Issuer burn and mint

Circle CCTP burns USDC on Ethereum and Circle mints native USDC on Sui.

Trade-offYou get the real USDC, with no wrapped copy. Only for USDC.

3Intent-based swap

A solver takes your ETH or on Ethereum and pays out SUI or another token on Sui.

Trade-offFast and can deliver SUI in one step. The fee is in the quote, and big amounts depend on solver capacity.

4Messaging bridge

Wormhole locks tokens on Ethereum and mints wrapped versions on Sui after its guardians sign.

Trade-offWorks for many tokens, but you get a wrapped version and rely on Wormhole's guardian set.

How to move Ethereum to Sui

These steps show how to move ETH with Sui Bridge, the native route. For USDC, choose USDC in the same interface or a CCTP app. For SUI directly, use a swap app instead and follow its quote.

  1. 1

    Set up a Sui wallet

Install Slush, Suiet or Phantom and create a Sui account. Write down the . Your Sui address starts with 0x and is 66 characters long, so do not mix it up with your Ethereum address.

  2. 2

Open Sui Bridge and connect both wallets

Go to bridge.sui.io from a bookmark or the link on sui.io. Connect MetaMask or another Ethereum wallet, then connect your Sui wallet. Choose Ethereum as the source and Sui as the destination.

  3. 3

    Pick the asset and amount

Choose ETH, WETH, WBTC, LBTC or USDT and enter the amount. Check the Sui address shown as the destination. For tokens other than ETH, your wallet will first ask you to approve the token.

  4. 4

    Confirm the deposit on Ethereum

Sign the deposit in your Ethereum wallet and pay the gas. Keep the transaction hash. You can follow it on Etherscan and in the bridge history.

  5. 5

    Wait for Ethereum finality

Sui validators wait until Ethereum treats the block as final, which usually takes about 13 to 20 minutes. Then they approve the transfer and the tokens appear in your Sui wallet.

  6. 6

    Get some SUI for fees

To move or swap your tokens on Sui you need SUI for gas. If you have none, swap a small amount on Cetus or another Sui exchange, or buy a little SUI on an exchange and withdraw it on the Sui network.

Fees and timing

The biggest cost is usually Ethereum gas for the deposit, and add one more transaction. In 2026 Ethereum gas is often low, cents to a few dollars, but it changes with demand. Sui Bridge does not take a separate fee on the way in as far as we know, so check the screen before you sign.

Circle CCTP charges nothing extra on standard transfers apart from gas. Faster modes, where offered, take a small fee. Swap apps like Mayan and NEAR Intents build their fee into the quote, often a fraction of a percent for common pairs. Exchanges charge a trading fee and a withdrawal fee.

Time depends on the method. Routes that wait for Ethereum finality, like Sui Bridge, CCTP standard and Wormhole, take about 15 to 30 minutes. Solver-based swaps can finish in seconds to a few minutes. Once tokens are on Sui, moving them is close to instant and costs a fraction of a cent.

Common mistakes

  • Pasting an Ethereum address where a Sui address is needed. Sui addresses are longer (66 characters), and a good bridge will reject the wrong format, but check anyway.
  • Arriving on Sui with no SUI for gas. You can hold the tokens, but cannot move them until you get some SUI.
  • Assuming USDT and USDC on Sui are all the same. Sui Bridge USDT, Wormhole-wrapped tokens and native USDC are different tokens, and apps may only accept one.
  • Expecting to "bridge" ETH and get SUI. A bridge moves the same asset. To get SUI you need a swap, either in a cross-chain app or on Sui after bridging.
  • Using a fake bridge site found through ads. Type bridge.sui.io yourself or use the link from the official Sui website.

Before you transfer

  • Decide what you want on Sui first: SUI, USDC, or the same ETH. That decides whether you need a bridge, a swap or both.
  • For USDC, use CCTP or an app that uses it, so you get native USDC.
  • Get a little SUI for gas, or choose SUI as what you receive.
  • Check which version of USDT or ETH a Sui app accepts before you bridge.
  • Bridges that wait for Ethereum finality take 15 to 30 minutes. That is normal, not a stuck transfer.
  • Going back from Sui to Ethereum on Sui Bridge needs a claim step on Ethereum, which costs ETH gas.

Frequently asked questions

For ETH, WBTC and USDT, the native Sui Bridge. For USDC, Circle CCTP. If you want SUI directly, a swap app like Mayan or NEAR Intents is simpler.

Use a cross-chain swap app that sends SUI to your Sui address, or bridge ETH with Sui Bridge and swap it for SUI on a Sui exchange like Cetus.

From Ethereum to Sui, usually 15 to 30 minutes. Most of that is waiting for Ethereum finality before Sui validators approve the transfer.

It is run by Sui's own validators and was before launch. That removes an outside company from the picture, but like any bridge it holds a lot of locked funds and depends on its code and its signers.

Yes. Circle issues native USDC on Sui, and CCTP moves it by burning on Ethereum and minting on Sui. Many bridge apps use CCTP for this.

Not directly. Sui is not an Ethereum-style network. Use a Sui wallet like Slush, Suiet or Phantom, and keep MetaMask for the Ethereum side.

You can usually receive them without SUI, but you need SUI to move or swap them afterwards. Choosing SUI as what you receive avoids the problem.
