Cardano to Solana Bridge
There is no working Cardano to Solana bridge that avoids trusting someone. Most people turn ADA into SOL or USDC through an exchange or a cross-chain swap. A wrapped ADA held by Coinbase is the only way to keep ADA on Solana.

Short answer
If you just want your ADA to become SOL or USDC in a Solana wallet, sell it. An exchange where you already have an account is the most predictable way. Deposit ADA, trade it, and withdraw on the Solana network. If you would rather skip the exchange, NEAR Intents takes real ADA and pays real SOL or stablecoins on Solana in one go.
Keeping ADA while using Solana is harder. There is no direct bridge between the two networks yet. The founders of both projects have said in public that they support building one, but it does not exist yet. What exists today relies on a company. Coinbase Wrapped ADA (cbADA) is reported to be available on Solana through the Sunrise gateway. That means you trust Coinbase to hold the real ADA.
For most amounts, a swap is simpler. Choose a wrapped token only if you really need ADA itself on Solana and are fine with a company holding the real coins.
| Trustless bridge | None yet |
|---|---|
| Most common way | Exchange: ADA in, SOL out |
| Option without an exchange | NEAR Intents swap |
| Wrapped ADA on Solana | cbADA (held by Coinbase) |
| Usual time | 5-30 min |
| What you pay | Spread + withdrawal fee |
Why this route is difficult
Cardano and Solana are built in very different ways. On Cardano, coins sit in separate chunks, and small programs decide whether each chunk can be spent. On Solana, programs read and update shared account balances directly. A bridge has to handle both styles, and code and token formats do not carry over from one side to the other.
A bridge that needs little trust would let each network check the other directly, using a light client. That means a Cardano checker running on Solana and a Solana checker running on Cardano, where programs have tight limits on how much work they can do. Neither exists yet. The usual fallback is a group of signers or a company holding the coins. But big bridge networks such as Wormhole, LayerZero and Chainflip do not support Cardano directly.
The other gap is liquidity, meaning money available to trade. With no official ADA on Solana, there are no big ADA pools on Solana exchanges, and no big SOL pools on Cardano exchanges. Any wrapped ADA on Solana has to build its own market. Until it does, selling it can cost you a lot in slippage.
So today value moves through swaps, not a bridge. You give up ADA on Cardano and get a different coin on Solana, from an exchange, an instant-swap service, or a solver network such as NEAR Intents.
Possible approaches
1Centralized exchange
Deposit ADA to an exchange that supports both networks, sell it, and withdraw SOL or USDC on Solana.
Trade-offEasy to trade and familiar, but you need an account and the exchange holds your money until you withdraw.
2Intent-based cross-chain swap
Send real ADA to a deposit address. A solver pays real SOL or stablecoins to your Solana address.
Trade-offNo exchange account, but the price depends on how many solvers compete and can be worse for large amounts.
3Instant-swap service
Send ADA to a swap service and receive SOL or another Solana coin.
Trade-offOne simple step, but the service holds your money during the swap, and some can freeze funds for compliance checks.
4Custodial wrapped ADA
A company holds ADA and a token standing for it is used on Solana, such as cbADA through the Sunrise gateway.
Trade-offYou keep ADA, but you fully depend on the company, and the token trades very little on Solana.
5Dedicated Cardano to Solana bridge
A bridge built just for these two networks that checks both sides. The founders of both projects have backed it in public.
Trade-offIt would bring real ADA to Solana, but there is no release or final design yet.
Options compared
| Option | You get | Typical time | Cost | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Centralized exchange | SOL, USDC or other Solana tokens | 10-30 min | Trading fee + withdrawal fee | People with a verified account |
| Intent-based swap (NEAR Intents) | Real SOL or stablecoins | 5-20 min | Built into the rate | No exchange account |
| Instant-swap service | SOL or Solana tokens | 10-40 min | Spread, often wider | Small one-off amounts |
| Custodial wrapped ADA (cbADA) | ADA as a Solana token | Varies | Exchange and gateway fees + slippage | Needing ADA itself on Solana |
| Stablecoin hop via an EVM chain | USDC on Solana | 30 min to a few hours | A fee at every hop | Rarely the best choice today |
Working solutions
| Solution | You receive | Custody / verification | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Centralized exchanges | SOL, USDC | The exchange | The most traded path today. |
| NEAR Intents | SOL, USDC, USDT | Solver pays, NEAR settles | Takes real ADA. No exchange account needed. |
| Instant-swap services | SOL | The service, during swap | Most need no account. |
| Coinbase Wrapped ADA (cbADA) | cbADA | Coinbase | Reported as available through the Sunrise gateway. Check the token address before buying. |
How to move Cardano to Solana
These steps show the exchange route. Most people use it, and it is the easiest to sort out if something goes wrong. NEAR Intents works in a similar way: you send ADA to a deposit address and enter your Solana address for the payout.
- 1
Check that the exchange supports both networks
Make sure the exchange accepts ADA deposits on the Cardano network and allows SOL or USDC withdrawals on the Solana network. Note the minimum withdrawal and the withdrawal fee on the withdraw screen.
- 2
Copy the ADA deposit address
Cardano addresses start with addr1. Exchanges usually do not ask for a memo for ADA. If one is shown, include it. If this is your first time sending ADA to this exchange, send a small test amount first.
- 3
Send ADA from Eternl, Lace or Yoroi
Paste the address, enter the amount and sign. Leave a little ADA for fees. If your wallet also holds other Cardano tokens, each must keep some ADA attached to it, so the wallet may not let you send all your ADA.
- 4
Track the deposit on Cardanoscan
Search your transaction ID on Cardanoscan. Cardano makes a block about every 20 seconds. The exchange credits you after its required number of confirmations, usually within a few minutes.
- 5
Trade ADA for SOL or USDC
For small amounts, a market order is fine. For bigger amounts, use a limit order so you do not pay extra when few buyers are around.
- 6
Withdraw on the Solana network
Paste your Phantom or Solflare address (usually 32-44 letters and numbers) and choose Solana as the network. If you withdraw USDC, make sure you have a little SOL for fees, or will get some soon.
- 7
Check it on Solscan
Look up the withdrawal ID or your address on Solscan. If a withdrawal stays pending for a long time, contact exchange support with the withdrawal ID. Do not submit it again.
Fees and timing
Sending ADA costs very little, usually a fraction of an ADA. The real costs are elsewhere: the exchange trading fee (or the spread in a swap quote), and the fixed fee the exchange charges to withdraw SOL or USDC on Solana. Receiving on Solana costs almost nothing.
Swap services and NEAR Intents usually do not show a separate fee. The cost is hidden in the rate. So compare how much SOL you actually get with the current market price. The gap tends to grow for larger amounts and when prices swing, and not much money is set aside for ADA to SOL trades.
Timing depends mostly on confirmations. Cardano blocks come about every 20 seconds, so deposits are usually credited fast. But each exchange or solver sets its own number of confirmations, and exchanges sometimes hold withdrawals for a manual check. Routes that hop through an EVM network add waiting time at every step.
Common mistakes
- Buying a Solana token called "ADA" or "Cardano" without checking its token address. Unofficial tokens with similar names exist and have nothing to do with real ADA.
- Forgetting that other Cardano tokens in your wallet keep some ADA locked with them, so you can send less than you expected.
- Picking the wrong network when withdrawing, for example USDC on Ethereum instead of Solana. Or pasting a Cardano address where a Solana address is needed.
- Withdrawing only USDC or another Solana token to a new wallet with no SOL. You then cannot pay the fee to move it.
- Believing the announced Cardano to Solana bridge is live and trusting a site that claims to be it. Only use links from official Cardano or Solana channels.
- Comparing swap quotes by rate only, and ignoring withdrawal fees and minimums.
Before you transfer
- There is no trustless bridge yet. Every option today is either a swap or a token held by a company.
- Decide first: do you want SOL or USDC, or ADA itself on Solana? That decides the route.
- Compare what you receive after all fees, not just the quoted rate.
- Check exchange withdrawal minimums and NEAR Intents swap minimums before sending.
- Keep a little SOL on the Solana side for fees and for receiving new tokens.
- Check any wrapped ADA token address through the issuer's official channels.
- Be suspicious of any site claiming to be the official Cardano to Solana bridge until both foundations announce it.
Frequently asked questions
Not a trustless one that works today. Both founders have publicly backed building one, but it has not launched. Today people use exchanges, swaps such as NEAR Intents, or a wrapped ADA held by Coinbase.
The simplest way: deposit ADA on an exchange, sell it for SOL, and withdraw on the Solana network. Without an exchange account, NEAR Intents takes real ADA and pays real SOL to your Solana wallet.
Only as a wrapped token. Coinbase Wrapped ADA (cbADA) is reported to be available on Solana through Sunrise, backed by ADA held by Coinbase. Check the token address and how much it trades before buying.
No. Phantom cannot hold real ADA, and a Cardano transaction cannot go to a Solana address. Convert ADA through an exchange or a swap first, then send the Solana coin to Phantom.
Usually 5 to 30 minutes. Cardano makes a block about every 20 seconds, so most of the wait is the exchange or solver counting confirmations and processing the withdrawal.
For most amounts, an exchange where you already have an account. Trading fees are low and the SOL withdrawal fee is small. For smaller amounts without an account, compare a NEAR Intents quote with instant-swap services.
Not directly. Wormhole is used for some tokens that arrive on Solana, but Wormhole has no contract on Cardano that locks ADA.
