Sui to Solana bridge

There is no official bridge between Sui and Solana. Sui Bridge only connects Sui with Ethereum. Most people use a swap app such as Mayan or NEAR Intents to turn SUI or USDC on Sui into SOL, USDC or another Solana token. Circle CCTP carries real USDC from Sui to Solana with a standard transfer, which is usually fast.

Short answer

A Sui to Solana takes coins from your Sui wallet and delivers them to a Solana address in a wallet such as Phantom or Solflare. Neither network is based, and each has its own address format, wallets and token standard, so a bridge or swap service has to carry the value across.

Sui Bridge, run by Sui , connects Sui with Ethereum, not Solana. For Solana, the usual choice is Mayan, which supports Sui, or an such as LI.FI. Wormhole Portal moves tokens as wrapped copies. For USDC, Circle CCTP burns USDC on Sui and mints it on Solana. Sui runs the current CCTP, and the standard transfer from Sui is usually fast.

Why this route is difficult

Sui and Solana are both non-EVM networks, but they do not work alike. Sui runs Move and uses 0x addresses. Solana has its own programs, token standard and address format. SUI does not exist on Solana by itself, so you either swap it into a Solana token or receive a wrapped copy created by a bridge.

For USDC, Circle issues the coin on both networks, and CCTP links them by burning on one side and minting on the other. Sui is on the current version of CCTP, and Circle says the standard transfer from Sui is already fast, so there is no separate fast mode.

Possible approaches

1Cross-chain swap

An app such as Mayan takes SUI or USDC on Sui and delivers SOL, USDC or another token on Solana.

Trade-offOne step and can change one token into another. The price depends on the route and the app.

2Issuer burn-and-mint

Circle CCTP burns USDC on Sui and mints real USDC on Solana.

Trade-offReal USDC with no pool limits, but only for USDC.

3Lock-and-mint wrapped token

Wormhole Portal locks your token on Sui and mints a wrapped version of it on Solana.

Trade-offWorks for many tokens, but the depends on the bridge behind it and may be hard to trade.

How to move Sui to Solana

These steps use a app such as Mayan, or an aggregator like LI.FI that routes through it. You sign on Sui and receive tokens on Solana.

  1. 1

    Get both wallets ready

You need a Sui wallet with your coins on Sui, plus a little SUI for the fee. You also need a Solana address from a wallet such as Phantom or Solflare.

  2. 2

    Choose the route and token

Open the app, pick Sui as the source and Solana as the destination, and choose what you want to receive. If your Solana wallet has no SOL, receive SOL or turn on a option if the app offers it.

  3. 3

    Check the address

Sui addresses start with 0x and are longer than EVM addresses. A Solana address does not start with 0x. If the recipient field shows a 0x address, you have pasted a Sui or EVM address. Fix it before you sign.

  4. 4

    Sign and follow the transfer

Confirm the transaction in your Sui wallet and pay the fee in SUI. Follow the order in the app and on Suiscan, then check your Solana wallet or Solscan. Do not send a second time while the first order is still open.

Fees and timing

Fees on Sui are paid in SUI and are usually small. Solana fees are paid in SOL and are a fraction of a cent.

The main cost is the app fee or the markup in the price. Swap apps build it into the quote, so compare the amount you receive. CCTP has no pool or markup of its own, but apps that use it may add a fee.

CCTP from Sui uses the standard transfer. Circle says it is already fast from Sui, so there is no separate fast mode or fast fee. The app shows the time estimate before you confirm.

Common mistakes

  • Arriving on Solana with USDC or another token but no SOL, so you cannot move or swap it.
  • Pasting your Sui address as the recipient. It starts with 0x, and Solana needs its own address format.
  • Receiving a wrapped Wormhole token when you wanted native USDC or SOL. Check the mint address on Solscan before you trade it.

Before you transfer

  • Plan for SOL on Solana. Receive SOL, use gas on destination, or hold some SOL there already.
  • Double-check the recipient. Your Sui address and your Solana address look nothing alike, and only the Solana one works here.
  • For USDC, check whether CCTP from Sui is still available in your app. If not, a swap app is the simpler path.

Frequently asked questions

No. Sui Bridge connects Sui with Ethereum. For Solana, people use Mayan, NEAR Intents, Wormhole Portal, Allbridge Core or an aggregator such as LI.FI.

Yes. A swap app such as Mayan or NEAR Intents can take SUI on Sui and pay you SOL on Solana in one step.

Yes. Fees on Solana are paid in SOL. If you arrive with only USDC, you cannot move it until you have some SOL, so receive a little SOL or use a gas on destination option.
