BNB Chain to Ethereum Bridge
Leaving BNB Smart Chain for Ethereum is a well served route. Pool bridges like Stargate, cross-chain swaps like deBridge and NEAR Intents, and Binance withdrawals all work. Most tokens on BSC are Binance-Peg versions, and Circle CCTP does not move USDC on BSC, so you get Ethereum tokens through a bridge, a swap or an exchange.

Short answer
A BSC to Ethereum bridge takes tokens on BNB Smart Chain and gives you tokens on Ethereum. Both networks use the same 0x address, so one MetaMask or Rabby wallet works on both. Fees on BSC are paid in BNB and are low. The bigger cost is usually on the Ethereum side, where you need ETH to do anything with what you receive.
What you hold on BSC matters. Most big tokens there, like ETH, USDT and USDC, are Binance-Peg tokens issued by Binance. They are not the same contracts as on Ethereum. A bridge or swap takes your Binance-Peg token on BSC and pays you the real token on Ethereum from its own funds. Stargate does this with USDT and USDC pools. deBridge, NEAR Intents and THORChain can also swap, for example BNB into ETH.
USDC is a special case. Circle's Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) lists BNB Smart Chain, but only for USYC, a different Circle token. Circle says USDC is supported on all CCTP networks except BNB Smart Chain. So there is no burn-and-mint path for USDC from BSC to Ethereum. You use a pool bridge, a swap or an exchange instead.
| Network type | Separate chain, not a layer 2 |
|---|---|
| Ethereum-secured bridge | None |
| Circle CCTP for USDC | Not on BNB Smart Chain |
| Main tokens on BSC | Binance-Peg ETH, USDT, USDC |
| BSC block time | About 0.45 seconds |
| Same address on both | Yes, 0x format |
| Need gas on arrival | ETH on Ethereum |
Why this route is difficult
BNB Smart Chain is its own blockchain with its own validators. Ethereum has no view into it, and BSC has none into Ethereum. So there is no bridge that Ethereum itself protects. Every route relies on someone: a bridge's verifiers, a set of solvers, a validator network, or Binance.
Token versions add a layer. Most large tokens on BSC are Binance-Peg tokens, backed by assets Binance holds. When you bridge them to Ethereum, the bridge does not unwrap them. It takes your BSC token and pays you a real Ethereum token from its own liquidity. That is why pool size and solver activity matter for big amounts.
USDC shows the gap clearly. On many networks, Circle's CCTP burns USDC on one chain and mints it on another. On BNB Smart Chain, Circle only supports USYC through CCTP, not USDC. So USDC on BSC leaves through pools, swaps or Binance.
Some bridges create their own wrapped tokens, such as Wormhole tokens. They work, but on Ethereum they are separate tokens with their own prices. Before sending a large amount, check that the token you receive is the one Ethereum apps actually use.
Possible approaches
1Liquidity pool bridge
You add USDT or USDC to a pool on BSC and receive the same kind of coin from a pool on Ethereum.
Trade-offGood for stablecoins. Large transfers can cost more when pools are uneven.
2Cross-chain swap
A solver or validator network takes your token on BSC and pays you a different or the same token on Ethereum.
Trade-offCan change BNB to ETH in one step. The fee sits in the quote, so compare a few services.
3Exchange as a bridge
Deposit to Binance on BSC, trade if needed, then withdraw on the Ethereum (ERC20) network.
Trade-offSimple and supports many tokens, but Binance holds your funds in between and may ask for identity checks.
4Lock-and-mint wrapping
Wormhole Portal locks a token on BSC and creates a wrapped copy on Ethereum.
Trade-offCovers tokens others do not, but the wrapped copy may be hard to sell on Ethereum.
Options compared
| Option | You get | Typical time | Cost | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Liquidity pool bridge (Stargate) | USDT or USDC on Ethereum | Minutes | BNB gas + pool and messaging fee | Stablecoins |
| Cross-chain swap (deBridge, NEAR Intents) | ETH, USDT, USDC and more | Seconds to minutes | Fee and spread built into the quote | Changing token on the way, like BNB to ETH |
| Binance exchange | ETH, USDT, USDC on Ethereum | Depends on the exchange | Trading fee + Ethereum withdrawal fee | People who already use Binance |
| Aggregator (LI.FI) | Depends on the route | Depends on the route | Same as the chosen bridge | Comparing several bridges at once |
Working solutions
| Solution | You receive | Custody / verification | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stargate | USDT, USDC | LayerZero verifiers (DVNs) | Has USDT and USDC pools on BNB Chain. Pool-based pricing. |
| deBridge | ETH, USDT, USDC and more | Orders filled by solvers | Swap and transfer in one step, such as BNB to ETH. |
| NEAR Intents | ETH, USDT, USDC | Solvers, settled on NEAR | Supports BNB Chain and Ethereum addresses. |
| THORChain | ETH, USDT, USDC | Validator vaults | Supports BSC assets like BNB, USDT and USDC. Swap from your own wallet. |
| Symbiosis | Many Ethereum tokens | Relayer network | Cross-chain swaps between BSC and Ethereum. |
| Wormhole Portal | Wrapped tokens | Guardian network | Wide token support, but you get Wormhole-wrapped versions. |
| LI.FI | Depends on route | Same as chosen bridge | Compares several bridges for you. |
How to move BNB Chain to Ethereum
These steps use a bridge or swap app, such as Stargate for stablecoins or deBridge for swaps. The same checks apply if you go through an aggregator like LI.FI.
- 1
Check your BNB balance
You pay fees on BSC in BNB. Keep a small amount in the wallet you are sending from. Without BNB you cannot approve or send tokens on BSC.
- 2
Pick the right source network
Choose BNB Smart Chain (BSC, chain ID 56) as the source. opBNB is a separate layer 2 on top of BSC. If your tokens are on opBNB, they need a different route.
- 3
Choose what you want on Ethereum
Pick the exact token you want to receive. If your Ethereum wallet has no ETH, consider receiving ETH, or part of the amount as ETH. You need ETH to move or swap tokens on Ethereum.
- 4
Check the quote and approve
Look at the amount you will receive, since fees are built into it. Tokens like USDT need a token approval first. Approve only the amount you are sending.
- 5
Confirm and track
Sign the transfer and follow it on BscScan and in the bridge app. When it is done, the tokens show on Etherscan under the same 0x address. If your wallet does not show a token, add it using the official contract address.
- 6
If it is slow or refunded
Some swap services refund you on BSC if no one fills the order. Do not send a second time while the first one is open. If nothing happens after the promised time, contact the bridge's support with your BscScan link.
Fees and timing
The BSC side is cheap. Fees are paid in BNB and are usually small, even with a token approval. Blocks come about every 0.45 seconds since the Fermi upgrade in January 2026, so your deposit is seen quickly.
The bridge or swap fee is the main cost you choose. Stargate prices depend on how full its pools are. Swap services like deBridge and NEAR Intents build the fee and spread into the quote, so compare the amount you receive. Binance charges a trading fee if you swap, plus a withdrawal fee for the Ethereum network.
The Ethereum side costs money later. The bridge usually pays the delivery for you, but once your tokens arrive you need ETH for every transaction on Ethereum. Ethereum fees change with how busy the network is.
Common mistakes
- Arriving on Ethereum with tokens and no ETH. You cannot move them until you add ETH.
- Expecting CCTP to move your USDC from BSC. Circle does not support USDC on BNB Smart Chain.
- Sending Binance-Peg tokens from BSC straight to an Ethereum address with a plain transfer. A normal send stays on BSC. Use a bridge, swap or exchange.
- Depositing to Binance on the wrong network. The deposit network must match the network you send from.
- Selecting opBNB or an old BEP-2 option instead of BNB Smart Chain.
- Using a bridge site found through an ad. Open bridges from their official links.
Before you transfer
- Plan for ETH on arrival. Receive some ETH, or have it ready in the wallet.
- Keep a little BNB on BSC to pay for the approval and the send.
- There is no Ethereum-secured bridge from BSC. Split very large amounts across routes or time.
- Do not count on CCTP for USDC from BSC. Use a pool bridge, a swap or an exchange.
- Check which token you will receive on Ethereum. The real USDT, USDC or ETH is what most apps use.
- For large amounts, send a small test first.
Frequently asked questions
Use a bridge or swap service such as Stargate, deBridge or NEAR Intents, or deposit on Binance and withdraw on the Ethereum network. Pick BNB Smart Chain as the source, Ethereum as the destination, and the token you want to receive.
No. Circle lists BNB Smart Chain on CCTP only for USYC. Circle says USDC is supported on all CCTP networks except BNB Smart Chain. Use another bridge, a swap or an exchange for USDC.
Yes. Cross-chain swap services like deBridge, NEAR Intents and THORChain take BNB on BSC and pay ETH on Ethereum. Aggregators like LI.FI compare the options.
They stay on BSC with the bridge or solver. You receive the matching token on Ethereum from the service's own funds. If the route is a Wormhole transfer, you receive a Wormhole-wrapped token instead.
Sometimes. You pay a small BSC fee to deposit and then Binance's withdrawal fee for Ethereum. Compare that with a bridge quote for the same amount.
Most likely you have no ETH. Every Ethereum transaction costs a fee in ETH. Get a little ETH from an exchange or a bridge, and the tokens will move.
They work almost the same way and use the same 0x address format, but they are on different networks. A BEP-20 token on BSC does not appear on Ethereum unless it goes through a bridge, a swap or an exchange.
