Polygon to Avalanche Bridge
There is no official bridge between Polygon and Avalanche. USDC moves through Circle CCTP, other tokens through liquidity bridges such as Stargate, Relay or deBridge.

Short answer
Polygon PoS and Avalanche C-Chain are both EVM compatible, so your wallet address is the same on both. They are still separate blockchains: a normal send on Polygon does not reach Avalanche. You need a bridge.
Gas on Polygon is paid in POL, and on Avalanche in AVAX. Keep some POL to send and plan how you will get AVAX on the destination side.
Polygon has two kinds of USDC: native USDC from Circle and the older bridged USDC.e. Only native USDC can go through CCTP.
| Direct official bridge | No |
|---|---|
| Native USDC | Via Circle CCTP |
| Typical time | Seconds to a few minutes |
| Gas on Avalanche | AVAX |
Why this route is difficult
Polygon PoS and Avalanche are separate blockchains with their own validators. There is no official bridge between them.
The official Avalanche bridge only goes to Ethereum and Bitcoin, and the official Polygon bridge only to Ethereum. Going through Ethereum works but costs more and takes longer.
Possible approaches
1Burn and mint (CCTP)
USDC is burned on Polygon, Circle confirms it, and native USDC is minted on Avalanche.
Trade-offUSDC only, but no wrapped versions.
2Liquidity pools
You deposit a token into a pool on Polygon and receive it from a pool on Avalanche.
Trade-offFast, but the rate depends on pool balance.
3Solvers
A third party pays you on Avalanche right away and later receives your funds on Polygon.
Trade-offVery fast, but not available for every token and amount.
Options compared
| Option | You get | Typical time | Cost | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Stargate, Relay or deBridge | USDC, USDT, ETH (as WETH.e) and other tokens | Seconds to minutes | Fee included in the quote | Most transfers |
| Circle CCTP | Native USDC on Avalanche | Seconds to about 20 minutes, depending on mode | Small fee in fast mode, plus gas | Moving USDC |
| Aggregator (LI.FI) | Depends on the chosen route | Same as the chosen bridge | Bridge fee plus a possible aggregator fee | Comparing several bridges at once |
Working solutions
| Solution | You receive | Custody / verification | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stargate | USDC, USDT, ETH | LayerZero verifiers (DVN) | Pool based, price depends on pool balance. |
| Circle CCTP | Native USDC | Circle attestation | Native USDC only. |
| Relay | USDC, ETH and others | Solver pays | Fast for popular tokens. |
| deBridge | Many tokens | deBridge validator network | Can deliver the token you need on Avalanche directly. |
| Synapse | USDC, USDT | Synapse guards | Liquidity bridge for popular tokens. |
| LI.FI | Depends on route | Same as the chosen bridge | Aggregator that compares several bridges. |
How to move Polygon to Avalanche
Bridging USDC or USDT
- 1
Check gas
Keep some POL on Polygon for the fee. Decide how you will get AVAX on Avalanche: some bridges can deliver a little gas with the transfer.
- 2
- 3
Compare the quote
Check which token and how much you will receive. For USDC, check whether it is native or USDC.e.
- 4
Confirm and check the balance
Sign the transaction on Polygon. When it completes, add Avalanche C-Chain to your wallet and check the balance.
Fees and timing
Gas on Polygon is usually very cheap and paid in POL. The main difference between options is the bridge fee and the rate.
On pool-based bridges the price depends on pool balance. Compare the amount you receive, not just the fee.
Common mistakes
- Confusing Polygon PoS with Polygon zkEVM. They are different networks.
- Sending USDC.e through CCTP. The route accepts only native USDC.
- Choosing Avalanche X-Chain or P-Chain instead of C-Chain.
- Arriving on Avalanche with no AVAX for the next transaction.
Before you transfer
- Send a small amount first if you are using the route for the first time.
- Check exactly which token will arrive: native or wrapped.
- Open bridges only from their official addresses.
Frequently asked questions
No. The official bridges of both networks only connect to Ethereum. Between Polygon and Avalanche people use third-party bridges or CCTP for USDC.
No. CCTP only works with native USDC. Move USDC.e through a liquidity bridge or swap it to native USDC first.
With AVAX. If you have none, pick a bridge that delivers gas or swap part of the received tokens for AVAX.
