Short answer

Most people moving money from Base to Hyperliquid want to trade perpetuals. Margin there is USDC, so almost every route comes down to one thing: getting USDC onto your trading balance.

The Deposit button in Hyperliquid uses a contract on Arbitrum and does not accept funds from Base directly. Circle, however, says HyperCore deposits work from any CCTP chain, and Base is one of them. Across, Relay and Mayan can also credit USDC to Hyperliquid straight from Base.

Hyperliquid has two parts: HyperCore with the trading account, and , an Ethereum-compatible network with in HYPE. Check where your funds will land before you send.

Why this route is difficult

Base is an Ethereum , while Hyperliquid is a separate blockchain. Hyperliquid's own bridge only connects it to Arbitrum.

That is why deposits from Base use CCTP and bridges that work with HyperCore directly.

Possible approaches

1Native USDC via CCTP

Circle burns USDC on Base and mints it on Hyperliquid.

Trade-offUSDC only, usually through an app or wallet with CCTP.

How to move Base to Hyperliquid

bridge or CCTP app

  1. 1

    Check your token

Native USDC on Base is easiest. If you hold ETH, pick a bridge that swaps it to USDC on the way.

  2. 2

    Open the bridge

Go to the official site of Across, Relay, Mayan or a CCTP app. Choose Base as the source and Hyperliquid as the destination.

  3. 3

    Choose where to credit

For trading you need the HyperCore balance (perps or spot). HyperEVM is for apps inside Hyperliquid.

  4. 4

    Compare and sign

Check the amount you receive and the fee, make sure it is at least 5 USDC, and confirm the transaction on Base.

  5. 5

    Check your balance

Open Hyperliquid with the same wallet address and confirm the USDC arrived on the right balance.

Fees and timing

Base gas usually costs cents and is paid in ETH.

The main difference between routes is the bridge fee. Compare the final USDC amount on your account.

Common mistakes

  • Sending USDC from Base straight to Hyperliquid's bridge contract on Arbitrum. It only accepts USDC on Arbitrum.
  • Depositing less than 5 USDC. Such amounts are not credited.
  • Crediting USDC to HyperEVM and expecting it on the trading account. These are separate balances and need a transfer inside Hyperliquid.
  • Sending USDC from an exchange straight to a bridge address. Withdraw to your own wallet first.

Before you transfer

  • Send a small amount first, but no less than 5 USDC.
  • Check which balance the funds will land on: HyperCore or HyperEVM.
  • Open bridges and Hyperliquid only from official addresses.
