Arbitrum to Hyperliquid Bridge

Arbitrum is the classic way into Hyperliquid. The deposit button in the Hyperliquid app sends native USDC from Arbitrum to your trading account in under a minute, with a 5 USDC minimum. Circle CCTP and bridges such as Across and Relay now offer other ways in, but for USDC already on Arbitrum the deposit button is still the simplest.

Short answer

Most people who move money from Arbitrum to Hyperliquid want to trade perps, and perps on Hyperliquid use USDC as margin. Hyperliquid has a contract on Arbitrum for exactly this. You connect your wallet, press Deposit, sign one Arbitrum transaction, and the USDC shows up in your account. Hyperliquid's docs say it is credited in less than 1 minute.

That bridge still works, but Hyperliquid's docs now call it legacy and deprecated and name Circle CCTP as the preferred way to bring USDC in. Circle documents a direct transfer from Arbitrum to . For you the result is the same: USDC in your Hyperliquid account. The main rules to remember are the 5 USDC minimum and that only native USDC on Arbitrum counts, not other tokens.

Why this route is difficult

Hyperliquid is its own blockchain, not a on Ethereum. It has two parts. HyperCore holds the order books, perps and spot balances. runs . Your trading balance lives on HyperCore, so USDC has to be locked or burned somewhere else and credited there.

The original answer is Hyperliquid's bridge contract on Arbitrum. USDC is locked in it and credited on HyperCore, and Hyperliquid sign releases when you withdraw. The newer answer is Circle CCTP. Circle issues native USDC on HyperEVM, and HyperCore balances are credits backed by it.

Possible approaches

1Hyperliquid bridge on Arbitrum

Lock USDC in Hyperliquid's bridge contract and get it credited on HyperCore.

Trade-offSimple and cheap, but Hyperliquid calls it deprecated and you rely on its validators for withdrawals.

2Issuer burn-and-mint

Circle CCTP burns USDC on Arbitrum and mints native USDC on HyperEVM, passed into HyperCore.

Trade-offNative USDC with no pools, but only for USDC, usually through an app.

3Intent bridge

A or pays you USDC on HyperCore and settles later.

Trade-offWorks from other tokens too, but you pay a fee and rely on the bridge's contracts.

How to move Arbitrum to Hyperliquid

These steps show a USDC deposit with the deposit button in the Hyperliquid app at app.hyperliquid.xyz.

  1. 1

Get USDC and a little ETH on Arbitrum

You need native USDC on Arbitrum, issued by Circle, plus some ETH to pay the Arbitrum network fee. Bridged USDC.e is a different token and is not accepted by the bridge.

  2. 2

    Connect your wallet to Hyperliquid

Open app.hyperliquid.xyz and connect the wallet that holds the USDC, such as Rabby or MetaMask. Your 0x address is your Hyperliquid account.

  3. 3

Press Deposit and enter the amount

Enter at least 5 USDC. Hyperliquid's docs say deposits under 5 USDC are not credited and are lost.

  4. 4

    Approve and confirm

The first time, your wallet asks for a . Then sign the deposit transaction on Arbitrum and pay the fee in ETH.

  5. 5

    Check your balance

The USDC should appear in your Hyperliquid account in under a minute. If it is in your spot balance and you want to trade perps, move it with a transfer inside the app.

Fees and timing

The deposit itself is just an Arbitrum transaction. You pay a small network fee in ETH, and the first deposit also needs a token approval. Hyperliquid's docs mention no deposit fee for this bridge.

Bridges such as Across and Relay build their fee into the quote. Across says its direct route from Arbitrum costs about 1 basis point. If you start from ETH instead of USDC, there is also a swap cost.

If your money is on an exchange, its withdrawal fee to Arbitrum is often the largest cost. Make sure that what arrives on Arbitrum is still above 5 USDC.

Common mistakes

  • Depositing less than 5 USDC. It is not credited and is lost.
  • Sending USDC.e or another token instead of native USDC on Arbitrum.
  • Sending USDC straight from an exchange to the Hyperliquid bridge contract. Withdraw to your own wallet first, then deposit from there.
  • Sending ETH on Arbitrum to the Unit ETH deposit address. Unit only credits ETH sent on the Ethereum network.
  • Having no ETH on Arbitrum, so you cannot pay for the deposit transaction.

Before you transfer

  • Use native USDC on Arbitrum and stay above 5 USDC.
  • Keep a little ETH on Arbitrum for the deposit transaction.
  • Pick HyperCore, not HyperEVM, if you want to trade.
  • Send a small test first if this is your first deposit.

Frequently asked questions

Connect your wallet at app.hyperliquid.xyz, press Deposit, enter at least 5 USDC and sign the Arbitrum transaction. The USDC is credited in under a minute.

5 USDC. Hyperliquid's docs say smaller deposits are not credited and are lost.

Not through the deposit button, which takes USDC. Use a bridge like Across or Relay that swaps to USDC on HyperCore, or swap ETH to USDC on Arbitrum first.

Hyperliquid's docs call it legacy and deprecated and name Circle CCTP as the preferred way. It still works, but check the app for the current options.

No. You pay the Arbitrum fee in ETH. HYPE is only needed for gas on HyperEVM.
