Solana to Polygon Bridge
There is no official bridge from Solana to Polygon. Most people use a fast bridge such as Mayan, Relay or deBridge, which takes SOL or USDC on Solana and pays POL, USDC or another token on Polygon PoS. Circle CCTP moves real USDC and delivers native USDC on Polygon, not USDC.e. Plan to have a little POL on arrival.

Short answer
A Solana to Polygon bridge takes coins from a Solana wallet such as Phantom or Solflare and delivers them to a 0x address on Polygon PoS. The networks use different address formats, wallets and token standards, so a bridge or swap service carries the value across. Many people make this move to use a Polygon app, pay someone who only uses Polygon, or reach an exchange that prefers it.
The Polygon Portal only connects Polygon with Ethereum, so it does not help here. The usual choice is a fast bridge like Mayan, Relay or deBridge, or an aggregator such as LI.FI that compares several. For USDC, Circle CCTP burns USDC on Solana and mints native USDC on Polygon. Whatever you send, you need POL on Polygon to move it afterwards.
| Most common route | Fast bridge (Mayan, Relay, deBridge) |
|---|---|
| Official bridge | None for this route |
| Real USDC | Circle CCTP, arrives as native USDC |
| Fees on Solana paid in | SOL |
| Needed on arrival | A little POL for gas |
| Polygon address | Starts with 0x |
Why this route is difficult
Solana has its own address format, wallets and token standard. Polygon PoS works like Ethereum, with 0x addresses and ERC-20 tokens. SOL does not exist on Polygon by itself, so you either swap it for a Polygon token or receive a wrapped copy created by a bridge.
For USDC, Circle issues the coin on both networks. CCTP burns USDC on Solana and mints the same amount of native USDC on Polygon, so you do not depend on a pool or a wrapped token.
Possible approaches
1Intent-based swap
A solver sends you POL, USDC or another token on Polygon and is repaid from your deposit on Solana.
Trade-offFast and can change one token into another. The price depends on how many solvers compete.
2Issuer burn-and-mint
Circle CCTP burns USDC on Solana and mints native USDC on Polygon.
Trade-offReal USDC with no pool limits, but only for USDC.
3Lock-and-mint wrapped token
Wormhole Portal locks your token on Solana and mints a wrapped version of it on Polygon.
Trade-offWorks for many tokens, but the wrapped token depends on the bridge behind it and may be hard to trade.
Options compared
| Option | You get | Typical time | Cost | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Intent-based bridge | POL, USDC and popular Polygon tokens | Seconds to a few minutes | Markup built into the quote | Most transfers, including SOL to POL |
| Circle CCTP | Native USDC on Polygon | Seconds with Fast Transfer, longer with Standard | Network fees, plus any app fee | Moving USDC |
| Aggregator | Depends on the chosen route | Same as the chosen bridge | Bridge price, plus any app fee | Comparing quotes in one place |
Working solutions
| Solution | You receive | Custody / verification | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mayan | POL, USDC and many tokens | Uses Wormhole | Supports Solana and Polygon. Offers a gas on destination option. |
| Relay | POL, USDC and popular tokens | Solver pays you | Supports Solana and Polygon. Fast for common coins. |
| deBridge | Most Polygon tokens | Orders, no pools | Swap and transfer in one step. |
| Circle CCTP | Native USDC | Circle confirms | USDC only. Used inside many bridge apps. |
| Allbridge Core | USDC, USDT | Allbridge contracts, no pooled user funds | Stablecoins only. Optional gas top-up. |
| Wormhole Portal | Wrapped tokens | Wormhole Guardians | Use portalbridge.com. Check that the wrapped token trades on Polygon. |
| LI.FI | Depends on route | Same as chosen bridge | Compares several bridges for you. |
How to move Solana to Polygon
These steps use an intent-based bridge such as Mayan, Relay or deBridge, or an aggregator like LI.FI. A USDC transfer through an app built on Circle CCTP looks much the same: you sign on Solana and receive native USDC on Polygon.
- 1
Get both wallets ready
You need a Solana wallet such as Phantom or Solflare with your coins and a little SOL for fees. You also need a 0x address on Polygon from a wallet such as MetaMask or Rabby.
- 2
Choose the route and token
Open the bridge, pick Solana as the source and Polygon as the destination, and choose what you want to receive. If your Polygon wallet has no POL, receive some POL or turn on a gas on destination option if the bridge offers it.
- 3
Check the address and the quote
A Polygon address starts with 0x. Make sure the network is Polygon PoS and not another EVM network. Compare quotes by the amount you will receive, because the fee is built into the price.
- 4
Sign and follow the transfer
Confirm in your Solana wallet and pay the fee in SOL. Follow the order in the bridge app and on Solscan, then check your address on Polygonscan. Do not send a second time while the first order is still open.
Fees and timing
Solana fees are paid in SOL and are usually a fraction of a cent. On Polygon PoS you pay gas in POL, usually a small amount, but you need some before you can move anything.
The main cost is the bridge fee or the markup in the price. Fast bridges build it into the quote, so compare what you receive. CCTP has no pool or markup of its own, but apps that use it may add a fee, and Fast Transfer can cost a little more than Standard.
If a route gives you a wrapped token, such as SOL wrapped by Wormhole, swapping it later on Polygon can cost more than the bridge fee itself. Check how well it trades before you bridge.
Common mistakes
- Arriving on Polygon with USDC or another token but no POL, so you cannot move or swap it.
- Sending to a 0x address on the wrong network. The address format is the same on many EVM chains, so check that the destination says Polygon.
- Expecting SOL to show up as SOL on Polygon. Unless you pick a wrapped token on purpose, you receive POL, USDC or another Polygon token.
- Mixing up USDC and USDC.e on Polygon. CCTP delivers native USDC. Check which one an app or exchange expects before you send it there.
Before you transfer
- Plan for POL on Polygon. Receive some POL, use gas on destination, or hold some there already.
- Decide what you want on Polygon first: POL, USDC or another token. That decides the route.
- Leave a little SOL in your Solana wallet so you can sign the transfer.
- For large amounts, send a small test first.
Frequently asked questions
No. The Polygon Portal connects Polygon with Ethereum. For Solana, people use independent bridges such as Mayan, Relay, deBridge or Wormhole Portal, or apps built on Circle CCTP.
Use an app that supports Circle CCTP, or a fast bridge. CCTP burns USDC on Solana and mints native USDC issued by Circle on Polygon.
Yes. A fast bridge such as Mayan, Relay or deBridge can take SOL on Solana and pay you POL on Polygon in one step.
Yes. Gas on Polygon PoS is paid in POL. If you arrive with only USDC, you cannot move it until you have some POL, so receive a little POL or use a gas on destination option.
Fast bridges usually take seconds to a few minutes. CCTP Fast Transfer usually takes seconds. Standard Transfer waits for finality on Solana first, so it takes a bit longer.
