Solana to BNB Chain Bridge
A well served route. Fast bridges like Mayan, deBridge and Relay turn SOL or USDC into BNB, USDT or USDC on BNB Chain in one step. Wormhole Portal covers more tokens, and an exchange works if you already have an account.

Short answer
A Solana to BNB Chain bridge takes coins from your Phantom or Solflare wallet and delivers coins to a BNB Chain address. BNB Chain is also called BNB Smart Chain or BSC. For most people the easiest way is a fast bridge such as Mayan, deBridge or Relay. You pick SOL or USDC on Solana, choose BNB or a stablecoin on BNB Chain, sign once, and the bridge handles the rest.
BNB Chain works like Ethereum. It uses the same 0x addresses and the same wallets, such as MetaMask, Rabby or Trust Wallet. Fees on BNB Chain are paid in BNB. So the most common problem is the same as on Ethereum: arriving with USDT or USDC but no BNB, which means you cannot move anything.
One more detail matters for stablecoins. Circle does not run its CCTP transfer system on BNB Chain, and the main USDC there is a version bridged by Binance, not USDC issued by Circle. That is fine for most uses on BNB Chain, but it means there is no "real USDC" burn-and-mint path like there is to Ethereum or Base.
| Usual time | Seconds to a few minutes (fast bridges) |
|---|---|
| Gas token on arrival | BNB |
| Address format | 0x, same as Ethereum |
| Circle CCTP | Not available on BNB Chain |
| Rare tokens | Wormhole Portal (wrapped) |
| Real SOL on BNB Chain | Does not exist, only wrapped copies |
| Wallets | Solana + EVM wallet |
Why this route is difficult
Solana and BNB Chain are built very differently. Solana has its own address format, wallets and token standard. BNB Chain copies Ethereum. A coin on Solana does not exist on BNB Chain by itself. Something has to create it there, or hand you a similar coin.
That decides what you hold at the end. Nobody issues real SOL on BNB Chain, so SOL there is always a wrapped copy. Most people swap SOL into BNB or a stablecoin on the way, which is what fast bridges do.
Stablecoins are less simple than on other routes. Circle CCTP, which moves real USDC between many networks, does not cover BNB Chain. So a USDC transfer to BNB Chain is really a swap into the USDC or USDT version that BNB Chain apps use.
Who you trust differs by route. Fast bridges let a solver pay you first and settle later, so you only depend on them for a short time. Wormhole relies on its guardians to confirm each transfer. An exchange holds your money until you withdraw.
Possible approaches
1Intent-based swap
A solver sends you BNB or a stablecoin on BNB Chain and gets paid back from your Solana deposit.
Trade-offFast and can change one token into another. The price depends on how many solvers compete.
2Lock-and-mint wrapping
Wormhole Portal locks the token on Solana and creates a wrapped copy on BNB Chain, or unlocks the original if it came from BNB Chain.
Trade-offWorks for many tokens, but wrapped copies can be hard to sell.
3Centralized exchange
Deposit SOL or USDC on an exchange that supports both networks, trade if needed, and withdraw on BNB Chain.
Trade-offFamiliar and easy to fix, but you need an account and the exchange holds your money for a while.
4Aggregator
A site like LI.FI asks several bridges for a quote and picks one for you.
Trade-offSaves comparing by hand. You still depend on the bridge it chooses.
Options compared
| Option | You get | Typical time | Cost | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Intent-based bridge | BNB, USDT, USDC and popular tokens | Seconds to a few min | Small markup, BNB Chain fee included | Most SOL to BNB Chain transfers |
| Wormhole Portal | Wrapped token (or the original if it came from BNB Chain) | A few minutes | Network fees + bridge fees | Tokens nobody else supports |
| Centralized exchange | BNB, USDT or other BNB Chain tokens | 10-30 min | Trading fee + withdrawal fee | People with a verified account |
| Aggregator (LI.FI) | Depends on the route it picks | Depends on the route | Fees of the chosen bridge | Comparing several bridges at once |
Working solutions
| Solution | You receive | Custody / verification | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mayan | BNB, stablecoins and many tokens | Uses Wormhole | Solvers bid for your order. Also powers swaps in the Portal app. |
| deBridge | Most BNB Chain tokens | Orders, no pools | Swap and transfer in one step. |
| Relay | BNB, common tokens | Solver pays you | Supports both Solana and BNB Chain. Fast for common coins. |
| Wormhole Portal | Wrapped or original tokens | Wormhole guardians | Widest token support. Check the wrapped token trades before bridging. |
| LI.FI | Depends on route | Same as chosen bridge | Compares several bridges for you. |
| Centralized exchanges | BNB, USDT and others | The exchange | Check that both Solana deposits and BNB Chain withdrawals are open. |
How to move Solana to BNB Chain
These steps use an intent-based bridge (Mayan, deBridge or Relay, or an aggregator like LI.FI that compares them). It is the path most people take, because the swap and the transfer happen in one step.
- 1
Get both wallets ready
You need a Solana wallet such as Phantom or Solflare that holds the coins you want to move, plus a little SOL for fees. You also need a BNB Chain address. It starts with 0x. MetaMask, Rabby and Trust Wallet all work. Any Ethereum address you own also works on BNB Chain.
- 2
Connect and choose what you want on BNB Chain
Open the bridge site, connect your Solana wallet, and paste or connect your 0x address. Make sure BNB Chain (sometimes shown as BSC) is the destination, not Ethereum. If you will have no BNB there, pick BNB, or turn on the "gas on destination" option if the bridge offers it.
- 3
Check the token you will receive
Look at the exact token, not just its name. USDT and USDC on BNB Chain are versions bridged by Binance. That is what most BNB Chain apps use. If you plan to send the coins to an exchange, check that it accepts that token on BNB Chain.
- 4
Check the quote
Look at the amount you will receive, not at the fee line. The bridge markup and the BNB Chain fee are usually built into that number. Compare two bridges, or let an aggregator do it.
- 5
Sign on Solana
Confirm the transaction in your Solana wallet. Solana fees are a fraction of a cent, and you sign only once. There is no separate token approval step.
- 6
Follow the transfer
Find your transaction on Solscan and watch the order page in the bridge app. When it is done, the coins show on BscScan under your 0x address. If your wallet does not show a token, add it with the contract address from BscScan.
- 7
If it gets stuck or refunded
If no solver fills your order, these bridges usually refund you on Solana. Do not send a second time while the first order is still open. If nothing happens after the promised time, contact the bridge support with your Solscan link.
Fees and timing
Both ends of this route are cheap networks. Solana fees are tiny, and BNB Chain fees are low compared with Ethereum. That makes this route reasonable for smaller amounts than a transfer to Ethereum.
The main cost is the bridge fee or the markup in the price. Fast bridges build it into the quote, so compare the amount you receive. Popular pairs like SOL to BNB and USDC to USDT usually get the best prices. Rare tokens cost more, because fewer solvers want them.
Exchanges charge a trading fee and a fixed withdrawal fee. Wormhole Portal transfers may need a small fee on each side. If you arrive with no BNB, the real cost is the extra step of getting some, so receiving a little BNB is often worth it.
Common mistakes
- Arriving on BNB Chain with USDT or USDC but no BNB, so the funds cannot be moved or swapped.
- Choosing Ethereum instead of BNB Chain as the destination. Both use 0x addresses, so the bridge will not warn you.
- Pasting a Solana address as the recipient. BNB Chain needs a 0x address.
- Expecting Circle-issued USDC on BNB Chain. The USDC there is a version bridged by Binance.
- Bridging a Solana meme coin through Wormhole Portal and finding that nobody trades the wrapped copy on BNB Chain.
- Sending bridged coins straight to an exchange that does not accept that exact token on BNB Chain.
Before you transfer
- Plan for BNB on BNB Chain. Receive BNB, use gas on destination, or have some BNB there already.
- Double-check that the destination is BNB Chain and not Ethereum. The address looks the same on both.
- USDC and USDT on BNB Chain are Binance-bridged versions. Check that your exchange or app accepts that exact token.
- SOL on BNB Chain is only a wrapped copy. Swap to BNB or a stablecoin unless you have a clear use for it.
- Compare quotes by the amount you receive, because the fee is built into the price.
- For large amounts, send a small test first.
Frequently asked questions
For most people, an intent-based bridge such as Mayan, deBridge or Relay, or an aggregator like LI.FI that compares them. They swap and transfer in one step. For a rare token, Wormhole Portal has the widest support.
Use a bridge that swaps on the way. Choose SOL on Solana and BNB on BNB Chain, paste your 0x address and sign. You can also sell SOL on an exchange and withdraw BNB on BNB Chain, if you are fine with sending funds through an exchange account.
Yes, for this purpose. BSC (BNB Smart Chain) is the network most people mean by BNB Chain. Bridges and exchanges may show either name.
No. Circle CCTP does not support BNB Chain. Bridges that offer USDC to BNB Chain swap it into the stablecoin versions used there.
Not with a normal send, because they are different networks. Use a bridge, set BNB Chain as the destination and paste your MetaMask address.
Every action on BNB Chain, including moving or swapping a token, costs a fee paid in BNB. If you arrive with only stablecoins, you are stuck until you get some BNB. Receiving BNB, or using gas on destination, avoids this.
Check your transaction on Solscan, then the status page of the bridge. Fast bridges refund orders nobody filled. If the bridge shows the transfer as done, look up your 0x address on BscScan and add the token to your wallet.
