Mantle to Ethereum Bridge
The official Mantle Bridge withdraws to Ethereum in up to 12 hours, and then you claim the funds on Ethereum. You need MNT to start on Mantle and ETH for the claim. Fast bridges such as Relay and Stargate pay you on Ethereum much sooner for a fee. USDT0 moves USDT back through LayerZero.

Short answer
Leaving Mantle is slower than arriving. A deposit from Ethereum takes about 2 minutes, but a withdrawal through the official Mantle Bridge takes up to 12 hours by Mantle's own numbers. After that you make a second transaction on Ethereum to claim the funds. Until you claim, the money stays in the bridge.
The wait comes from how Mantle proves its state to Ethereum. Mantle says it completed its move to ZK validity proofs with OP Succinct in September 2025 and gives about 1 hour as its finality figure. Before that it was an optimistic rollup. The official withdrawal still takes up to 12 hours, so plan around that number.
If you do not want to wait, a fast bridge pays you on Ethereum from its own funds and takes your tokens on Mantle. Relay lists Mantle and handles ETH, MNT and other common coins. Stargate has USDT and mETH pools on both chains. USDT0 moves USDT back to Ethereum through LayerZero. These routes cost a fee but usually finish in minutes.
| Official route | Mantle Bridge at app.mantle.xyz |
|---|---|
| Native withdrawal time | Up to 12 hours |
| Claim on Ethereum | Yes, a separate transaction |
| Gas on Mantle | MNT |
| Gas for the claim | ETH on Ethereum |
| Proof system | ZK validity proofs (OP Succinct) since September 2025 |
Why this route is difficult
Mantle is a layer 2 that settles on Ethereum. Coins on Mantle are backed by assets held in bridge contracts on Ethereum, so leaving Mantle through the official route means proving to Ethereum that your withdrawal is valid.
That proof takes time. Mantle says it moved to ZK validity proofs with OP Succinct in September 2025 and gives 1 hour as its finality figure, while the official withdrawal takes up to 12 hours. After that, you still claim on Ethereum.
Gas is the other catch. Mantle uses MNT as its gas token, not ETH. You need MNT to start on Mantle and ETH to claim on Ethereum, so check both balances before you begin.
Fast bridges solve the wait by paying you on Ethereum from their own liquidity. You trade the wait for a fee and for trust in the bridge's contracts or its checkers.
Possible approaches
1Official withdrawal
Start the withdrawal on Mantle, wait up to 12 hours, then claim on Ethereum.
Trade-offNo extra bridge fee and backed by Mantle's own contracts. Slow, two transactions, and you need gas on both chains.
2Fast bridge
A solver or a liquidity pool pays you on Ethereum and takes your tokens on Mantle.
Trade-offMinutes instead of hours and no claim step. You pay a fee and rely on the bridge's contracts.
3Exchange
Deposit on Mantle and withdraw on Ethereum.
Trade-offSimple if you already use the exchange. It holds your funds in between, and Mantle support varies by coin.
Options compared
| Option | You get | Typical time | Cost | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mantle Bridge (official) | ETH, MNT or listed tokens | Up to 12 hours plus a claim | Gas on Mantle and on Ethereum | Large amounts, no extra bridge fee |
| Relay | ETH and other common coins | Usually seconds to minutes | Fee shown in the quote | Fast ETH withdrawals |
| Stargate | USDT, mETH | Usually minutes | Pool fee plus LayerZero fee | USDT and mETH |
| Via an exchange | Coins the exchange supports | Depends on the exchange | Withdrawal fee | If you trade on that exchange anyway |
Working solutions
| Solution | You receive | Custody / verification | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mantle Bridge | ETH, MNT or listed tokens | Ethereum (bridge contracts) | Withdrawals up to 12 hours plus a claim on Ethereum. |
| Relay | ETH and others | Solver pays you | Fast for common coins. Lists Mantle as a supported chain. |
| Stargate | USDT, mETH | LayerZero checkers (DVNs) | Pool-based. Has USDT and mETH pools on Mantle and Ethereum. |
| USDT0 | USDT | LayerZero checkers (DVNs) | USDT0 leaves Mantle and USDT is released on Ethereum. |
| Via an exchange | Coins the exchange supports | The exchange | Check that deposits on Mantle are open for your coin. |
How to move Mantle to Ethereum
These steps show a withdrawal from Mantle to Ethereum through the official Mantle Bridge. It adds no fee of its own but takes up to 12 hours and ends with a claim on Ethereum.
- 1
Open the official bridge
Go to app.mantle.xyz from a bookmark or by typing the address. Fake bridge sites copy the look and show up in search ads.
- 2
Check your gas on both chains
You need some MNT on Mantle to start the withdrawal and some ETH on Ethereum for the claim at the end. ETH on Mantle cannot pay for gas.
- 3
Choose Withdraw
Connect your wallet, pick the withdraw direction from Mantle to Ethereum, choose the token and enter the amount. Read the time estimate shown before you confirm.
- 4
Start the withdrawal on Mantle
Confirm the transaction in your wallet. A token may need an approval first. Your funds leave your Mantle balance right away.
- 5
Wait for the withdrawal to be ready
Mantle says this takes up to 12 hours. Track the status in the History tab of the bridge or look up the transaction on the Mantle explorer.
- 6
Claim on Ethereum
When the status shows the withdrawal is ready, switch your wallet to Ethereum and confirm the claim. The funds arrive only after this step.
Fees and timing
The official Mantle Bridge adds no fee of its own. You pay gas on Mantle in MNT to start the withdrawal and gas on Ethereum in ETH for the claim. The claim on Ethereum is usually the larger cost, and it depends on how busy Ethereum is at the time.
Fast bridges charge a fee for paying you early. Relay shows its fee in the quote. Stargate charges a pool fee plus a LayerZero messaging fee. USDT0 charges a LayerZero fee. Compare the amount you receive on Ethereum, not only the headline fee.
For small amounts, a fast bridge is often cheaper overall, because you skip the claim transaction on Ethereum. For large amounts, the official bridge can be cheaper, since its cost does not grow with the amount, but you wait up to 12 hours.
Common mistakes
- Starting a withdrawal with no MNT on Mantle. Fees there are paid in MNT, and ETH on Mantle cannot cover them.
- Forgetting the claim on Ethereum. The funds stay in the bridge until you make that second transaction, and it needs ETH for gas.
- Opening a bridge from a search ad or a direct message instead of app.mantle.xyz or the real address of a known bridge.
- Expecting the official withdrawal to take minutes. Mantle states up to 12 hours, so use a fast bridge if you need the money sooner.
- Mixing up USDT0 and the older bridged USDT on Mantle. The Mantle bridge labels the old one as USDT (BRIDGED), and the two may use different routes back.
- Sending from Mantle to an exchange without checking that the exchange accepts that coin on the Mantle network.
Before you transfer
- Keep some MNT on Mantle and some ETH on Ethereum before you start.
- If you need funds within the hour, use a fast bridge instead of the official withdrawal.
- Write down your withdrawal transaction hash so you can find it for the claim.
- Check which USDT you hold on Mantle, USDT0 or USDT (BRIDGED), before choosing a route.
- Compare the amount received on Ethereum across routes, not only the quoted fee.
Frequently asked questions
Through the official Mantle Bridge, up to 12 hours according to Mantle, and then you claim the funds on Ethereum. Fast bridges such as Relay usually pay you within minutes.
The official withdrawal ends with a transaction on Ethereum that releases your funds from the bridge contracts. Until you send it, the funds stay in the bridge. It costs gas in ETH.
Yes. Every transaction on Mantle is paid in MNT, including the start of a withdrawal. ETH on Mantle is a regular token and cannot pay for gas.
No. Mantle says it completed its move to ZK validity proofs with OP Succinct in September 2025. Official withdrawals still take up to 12 hours.
A fast bridge. Relay lists Mantle and usually pays ETH on Ethereum within seconds to minutes. Stargate covers USDT and mETH. You pay a fee instead of waiting.
USDT0 is the default USDT on Mantle and moves back to Ethereum through LayerZero. Stargate also has USDT pools on both chains. If you hold the older USDT (BRIDGED), check which routes accept it.
In the History tab of the Mantle Bridge, or by looking up your transaction on the Mantle explorer. Come back to the bridge to claim once the withdrawal is ready.
