Ethereum to Aptos bridge
Aptos is not an EVM chain, so you need an Aptos wallet such as Petra and a little APT for gas. Circle CCTP moves native USDC from Ethereum to Aptos, and Aptos Labs says CCTP V2 is live there. Wormhole and LayerZero also connect the two chains. Older bridged USDC such as lzUSDC is not the same token as native USDC.

Short answer
Aptos runs its own virtual machine and uses its own address format, so your Ethereum 0x address does not work there. Before you bridge, set up an Aptos wallet such as Petra and copy its address. Transactions on Aptos pay gas in APT, so plan to hold a small amount.
For USDC, the cleanest route is Circle CCTP. It burns USDC on Ethereum and mints native USDC on Aptos. Aptos also has older bridged USDC from LayerZero, called lzUSDC, and Circle encourages users to move to native USDC. Wormhole and LayerZero based bridges cover other tokens, often as wrapped versions.
| Virtual machine | Aptos (not EVM) |
|---|---|
| Gas token | APT |
| Wallet needed | Aptos wallet, such as Petra |
| Native USDC route | Circle CCTP (V2 live on Aptos) |
| Legacy bridged USDC | lzUSDC from LayerZero |
Why this route is difficult
Aptos is a separate, non EVM network, so the usual Ethereum layer 2 bridges do not reach it. You need a bridge that supports Aptos and an Aptos wallet to receive.
USDC on Aptos exists in more than one form. Native USDC comes from Circle, while lzUSDC came from LayerZero before native USDC launched. Circle recommends native USDC and lists apps such as Echelon Markets, Echo Lending and Meso Finance for swapping lzUSDC to it.
Possible approaches
1Burn and mint
Circle CCTP burns USDC on Ethereum and mints native USDC on Aptos.
Trade-offNo wrapped token, but it only works for USDC.
2Lock and mint
Wormhole or a LayerZero bridge locks tokens on Ethereum and issues a representation on Aptos.
Trade-offCovers more tokens, but you receive a wrapped asset and rely on the bridge's security.
3Cross chain swap
An aggregator routes through one of these bridges and swaps on arrival.
Trade-offOne step, but the received token and fees depend on the chosen route.
Options compared
| Option | You get | Typical time | Cost | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Circle CCTP | Native USDC on Aptos | Minutes, faster with Fast Transfer | Ethereum gas plus any fast transfer fee shown | Moving USDC |
| Wormhole | Supported tokens on Aptos, often wrapped | Shown before you confirm | Ethereum gas plus bridge fees | Tokens other than USDC |
| LayerZero bridges | Bridged tokens such as lzUSDC on Aptos | Shown before you confirm | Ethereum gas plus messaging fee | Apps that still use LayerZero tokens |
Working solutions
| Solution | You receive | Custody / verification | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Circle CCTP | Native USDC on Aptos | Burn and mint by Circle | Aptos Labs says CCTP V2 is live on Aptos, including inbound Fast Transfers. |
| Wormhole | Supported tokens on Aptos | Wormhole guardian network | Covers non EVM chains, Aptos included. Check whether the token arrives wrapped. |
| LayerZero | Bridged tokens such as lzUSDC | LayerZero messaging | The Aptos Bridge by LayerZero brought USDC, USDT and ETH to Aptos. Its USDC is the legacy lzUSDC. |
| Stargate | Depends on the route | Liquidity pools with LayerZero messaging | Aptos named Stargate as a provider for the move from bridged to native USDC. Check current Aptos support in the app. |
How to move Ethereum to Aptos
Send USDC to Aptos with Circle CCTP
- 1
Set up an Aptos wallet
Install an Aptos wallet such as Petra and copy your Aptos address. Get a small amount of APT for gas on Aptos.
- 2
Pick a CCTP interface
Open a bridge that supports CCTP transfers to Aptos. Choose Ethereum as the source, Aptos as the destination and paste your Aptos address.
- 3
Approve and send on Ethereum
Approve USDC if asked, then confirm the transfer and pay Ethereum gas in ETH. The USDC is burned on Ethereum.
- 4
Check the token on Aptos
Native USDC is minted to your Aptos address. Make sure your wallet shows native USDC, not lzUSDC, before you use it in an app.
Fees and timing
The Ethereum side costs gas in ETH for the approval and the transfer. This is usually the largest part of the cost.
On Aptos, transactions pay gas in APT. Some interfaces handle the receiving step for you, others ask you to sign it.
Bridges that swap or wrap tokens include their fee in the quote. Compare the amount you receive and the exact token you get.
Common mistakes
- Pasting an Ethereum 0x address as the Aptos destination. Aptos needs an address from an Aptos wallet.
- Receiving lzUSDC when you wanted native USDC. Check the token before you send it to an exchange or app.
- Arriving on Aptos with no APT. Without APT you cannot pay for your next transaction.
Before you transfer
- Check the destination address format twice. An Aptos address is not interchangeable with an Ethereum address.
- Aptos runs the current version of CCTP. Use an app that supports it, since Circle is phasing out the old V1 contracts.
- Test with a small amount first, keeping Ethereum gas in mind.
Frequently asked questions
No. Aptos uses a different address format. You need an Aptos wallet such as Petra to receive funds.
Circle CCTP. It burns USDC on Ethereum and mints native USDC on Aptos, with no wrapped token in between.
USDC bridged to Aptos by LayerZero before native USDC launched. Circle encourages moving to native USDC.
APT. Keep a small amount in your Aptos wallet for transactions after you arrive.
