Liquidity bridge
Celer cBridge
Celer cBridge is one of the older multi-chain bridges, connecting Ethereum, its layer 2 networks, BNB Chain, Avalanche and non-EVM chains such as Aptos and Sui. It moves stablecoins and ETH using liquidity pools on each chain. Transfers are confirmed by Celer's own validator network.
Official websiteHow it works
- 1You deposit tokens into the cBridge pool on the source chain.
- 2Celer's validator network (the State Guardian Network) sees the deposit and signs off on the transfer.
- 3The same token is paid to you from the cBridge pool on the destination chain, usually within minutes.
Trust model
You trust Celer's State Guardian Network: validators that stake the CELR token and sign each transfer. If most of them were compromised, pool funds could be at risk.
Strengths
- Covers many EVM networks plus Aptos and Sui.
- No waiting for official withdrawal periods.
- Long track record since 2021.
Limitations
- A validator-based bridge: security is weaker than an official rollup bridge.
- Large transfers depend on pool liquidity on the destination chain.
- Mostly stablecoins and ETH; other tokens are limited.
