Skip Go
Skip Go is the main cross-chain app and routing service of the Cosmos ecosystem. It moves assets between Cosmos networks over IBC and between Cosmos and Ethereum over IBC Eureka, and can swap along the way.
Official websiteHow it works
- 1You choose the token, the source and the destination in the Skip Go app or in a wallet that has it built in.
- 2Skip Go builds a route: IBC transfers between Cosmos networks, IBC Eureka for Ethereum, or other bridges such as CCTP for USDC, plus swaps where needed.
- 3Skip's relayers deliver each step and pay the destination fees, so you sign once on the source network.
Trust model
Skip Go itself does not hold your funds; you take on the trust model of each bridge in the route. IBC and IBC Eureka verify the other network with light clients rather than a group of signers. Routes that use other bridges carry those bridges' risks.
Strengths
- The standard way to move assets inside Cosmos, with routes across many IBC networks.
- Direct Ethereum to Cosmos Hub transfers through IBC Eureka without a separate bridge token.
- One signature for multi-step routes; fees are paid for you.
Limitations
- Mostly useful if Cosmos networks are on one side of the transfer.
- Multi-step routes can fail midway and leave funds on an intermediate network, where they must be recovered.
- Risk depends on the bridges chosen for each route.
